The Class 99 is now in its final phase of acceptance for the UK rail network and deliveries of production batches have started. This new locomotive, a 25KV electric and Cummins Diesel, represents a new heavy freight (and passenger) design and will revolutionise GBRf freight transport. Not only is it more powerful and more economical it further improves fuel efficiency and reduces emissions to a Stage V level. Bob will explain its development and introduction to the UK network.
