Why should you as engineers and technologists be interested in Process Safety when you are working in companies that don't deal with bulk chemicals or hazardous materials, that are not seen as of high hazard?
It is because poor design or construction, sloppy operations and startups, poor modification procedures or practice, lead to a loss of control.
At whatever level in management and in whichever discipline you are, there are things that you may do that would cause minor faults to become upsets and finally emergencies. With damage to plant, people and reputations, so sign in and learn from others mistakes and experience. And hear about the principles of process safety leadership.
You will be surprised to see how a wide variety of industries could have helped themselves to avoid the common causes and errors.
