Structural failure of silos has frequently caused substantial financial losses, injury and death to workers. The current trend of mass retirements of experienced engineers, and replacement with fresh graduates, greatly increases the risks especially as the discipline of bulk solids handling is not on the regular educational curriculum of most engineering graduates. This event will serve to raise awareness and hopefully stimulate interest in the subject to aid safety in this field.

Heat pumps are a sustainable and energy-efficient solution for decarbonizing the process industry. By transferring heat from one location to another using a refrigerant, they enable significant reductions in energy consumption and carbon emissions. Heat pumps can extract heat from various sources such as air, water, or ground and elevate it to a temperature suitable for industrial processes. Applications include Process Heating, Cooling, and Waste Heat Recovery
