Description

The capturing of wave energy using wave energy convertors (WEC) can play an important role in decarbonisation of the energy market within the UK.

This talk will highlight and discuss the ongoing UK and international collaborative developments of various types of Wave and Tidal Energy Generating Systems, and how such machines are controlled and optimised for peak performance.

Then it will focus on the current Lancaster University research on the EPSRC funded research relating to the multi axis Wave Energy Converter System TALOS WEC, its international research collaborations and its next steps. This new research project will develop cutting-edge technologies that will advance efforts towards capturing the huge Renewable Power of the Oceans.
