The Lancaster E-Racing (LER) team consists of 18 of the most ambitious Lancaster University Engineering students working towards the Formula Student competition, which takes place at Silverstone. In 2019, the Lancaster entry became one of only two UK teams to pass scrutineering with an electric powertrain. This year, LAncaster E-Racing (LER) have had a heavy focus on sustainability, opting to take on the added challenge of going carbon neutral.

Team Leader
Tom is a final year Mechanical engineering
student at Lancaster University in charge of
overseeing the progress of Lancaster eRacing. Alongside the other team leads, he
ensures that we stick to our deadlines and
communicates directly with technicians and
supervisors in the department if the team
has any queries.
Aerodynamics
Tom specialises in aerodynamics. He
has recently been testing materials for
the aero components and has
concluded that a flax composite will be
the best option for the vehicle.

Finance & Schedule Manager
Will is a final year Mechanical engineering
student at Lancaster University in charge of
overseeing the budget and project
schedule. He arranges regular team
meetings to ensure that nobody is going
over their allocated budget.
Electrical (Accumulator)
Will has recently been focused on
designing the accumulator container
and layout.. He has also been gathering
all the cost information in order to
prepare for the cost and design event.

Mechanical Lead
Dragos is a final year Mechanical
engineering student at Lancaster University
in charge of overseeing the chassis
manufacturing, including any tags on the
car. The team members working on
anything mechanical report to him to
ensure that specifications are being made.
Chassis Design
Dragos has been manufacturing the
front and rear plates subframes,
including the rear drive train
assemble and the front suspension
mounting.

Electrical Lead
Stefan is a final year Electrical Engineering
student at Lancaster University. Stefan
leads the electronic prototyping, making
sure every error is corrected before the
circuit boards are professionally made.
Every member of the electrical team
reports to him to make sure progress is
running smoothly.
Aerodynamics
Stefan has recently been working on
disassembling the previous accumulator in
preparation for the imminent arrival of the
new BMS. He has also completed the
assembly schematics for the electrical side of
the car to complete a 3D model render
needed for the ESF.
