This talk will focus on the application of graphene research into the aerospace industry. The team at UCLAN successfully flew the world’s first graphene winged aircraft at Farnborough International Air Show in 2016 and unveiled the JUNO Graphene skinned UAV at Farnborough 2018. Previous graphene developments have included the world’s first flight of a graphene skinned wing and the launch of a specially designed graphene-enhanced capsule into near space using high altitude balloons.

Billy Beggs, Engineering Innovation Manager for the University of Central Lancashire. Billy Beggs joined the university from BAE Systems where he had worked on the Tornado, Eurofighter, and Typhoon development programs from initial concept to flight.
