Ross will give an introduction to the Ative Hearse and Limousine, which are both full size electrically driven funeral vehicles design for the UK and Export. The talk will include a brief report on the design process, the structure and method of manufacture using modern composites and adhesives to achieve a light and durable vehicle which meets the requirements of funeral directors while being "Environmentally Friendly"

Will, will provide an insight into his work and experience as an apprentice engineer and review a few of the projects he has completed, many of which he has had total responsibility of the design and specification with significant involvements in the procurement of equipment ,tooling, and components, and in the manufacturing process .

This will be a tour of the manufacturing facilities at Coleman Milne where they convert standard "High Quality" saloon car into Limousines and Hearses for the funeral market.

The processes include, stripping out the cars, extensive modifications to the structure and driveline, repaint re-wire and re- trim to "O.E" standard or better. With a normal production rate of between 5 and 8 vehicles per week ColemanMilne are the largest producer of these vehicle in the UK and and are part of WNVtech group who together manufacture and serve a wide range of automotive customers including the emergency services, Local Authorities, Bus and private hire operators and the funeral market. 

Depending the security levels of the vehicles "in-work", the tour may not include  a tour of VCS who are also part of WNVtech Group and on the same site and manufacture specialist vehicles for the police and other emergency services.
