Royal Victoria Hospital Air Conditioning System
Opened in 1903, this hospital was designed around a pioneering ventilation system that fed clean air through a 400-foot long duct to the wards.  Temperature and humidity were controlled for the benefit of the hospital patients making this the first public building to be air-conditioned.
The event will commence with welcome and greetings from the site, followed by a tour of the steam engine, engine house and fresh air duct. The event will continue with several speeches setting the context of Engineering Heritage Awards and the particular merits of Royal Victoria Air Conditioning. The plaque unveiling will be performed by Patrick Kelly, Chair of the IMechE Northern Ireland Regional Committee.
The event will end with a network reception & refreshments.

Car Park available on site.
