"Electric and Hybrid Vehicles"
This event will present an overview of the current state of Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Technology and potential future developments. It is being run in partnership with the Charles Hurst Group and a number of the Group Franchises. There will be a general presentation, a model from each of the following brands will be on show in front of the Wellington Park Hotel for viewing and representatives from the franchises will be available to answer questions:

• Hyundai
• Jaquar / Land Rover
• KIA
• Lexus
• Nissan
• Renault
• Toyota

The main points that will be discussed during the presentations are:

  • Growth in Sales of EV/Hybrid Vehicles
  • Decline in Diesel Sales
  • Popularity of different models
  • What’s new and upcoming in each brand for EV/Hybrid vehicles
Refreshments and viewing of the vehicles will be available from 6pm, the general presentation will commence at 6:45pm and the evening will finish around 8:30pm.

“Space Engineering” - Tuesday 9th October – Armagh Planetarium

“Engineering and Biodiversity” - Thursday 11th October – Malone House, Barnett Demesne

“Aerospace Manufacturing” - Monday 15th October – Ashby Building and NI Technology Centre

“Diversity in Engineering” - Tuesday 16th October – Malone House, Barnett Demesne

“Biomedical Engineering” - Wednesday 17th October – Wellington Park Hotel

"Electric and Hybrid Vehicles” - Thursday 18th October – Wellington Park Hotel

As the primary objective of the “Engineering Week” is to showcase Engineering to young people, the Committee asks and encourages all IMechE members to bring their own young people to the events but also to tell their wider family members, friends and associated teachers about them.

The IMechE's partner in staging this event is the Charles Hurst Group and a number of the Group Franchises. The Group now offers a wide selection of electric and hybrid vehicles to customers across Northern Ireland, encompassing a range of manufacturers and a variety of powertrains.
