Technical visit
20 March 2019 19:30 - 21:00
This event has finished
Description

Machinery plays a crucial role in modern agriculture. As it becomes more complex, people with specialist technical skills will be needed to maintain, service and repair this equipment both in workshops and in the field. Diagnosis of faults on modern equipment also often involves the use of complex tools and IT equipment.

The Machinery and Buildings Centre (MBC) at CAFRE Greenmount Campus was specifically designed to deliver all of the engineering training required to develop people with these skills.

The visit will include a tour of the diary and presentation on the new technologies being adopted in modern dairies, followed by a tour of the MBC and demonstration of diagnostics on a tractor.

The instructions for meeting up at the Campus are as follows:

- Tour commencement time – 19:00
- Gather in the Machinery and Buildings Centre car park (No.23 on the attached map).
- Enter the gate and take the first right and follow the signs to the Machinery Building.

- When going through the first barrier, press the intercom and say attending MBC event.
