Description

Founded in 1990, Ryobi Aluminium Casting UK Ltd supplies into the European car industry as part of the Japanese multinational Ryobi Limited. The factory based in Carrickfergus employs around 500 people and ships over 3.5 million castings per year to customers across Europe. Ryobi Aluminium Casting UK Ltd supply engine and transmission components produced using the high pressure die casting process for customers such as VW group, Jaguar Land Rover and Peugeot Citroen.

As design manager Paul oversees the product and tooling design activities who work with their customers to optimise their design for the high pressure die casting process and in parallel work with our parent company in Japan who manufacture the tooling. This helps to reduce development time and ensures integration between tooling and product design.

The plant tour will be given by Ryobi's Manufacturing Manager Stafford Doran. Stafford is responsible for Ryobi's large castings factory and has been with Ryobi for over twenty years. He has a wealth of knowledge about the company and their processes.

Upon arrival people should report to security, there is a hut at the main entrance in the middle of the two main car parks.

There should be parking on-site available at that time of the evening. A staff member will escort visitors around to the meeting room."

Further details of the event will follow.
