The group will be guided through the test facilities at the Floating Wind Innovation Centre, located in the Energy Transition Zone in Altens, Aberdeen, with a focus on how the facility tests subsea electrical cables for the offshore wind sector.
About Flowic:
FLOWIC's focus is on the development, testing and qualification of critical floating wind technologies including moorings, anchoring and dynamic cable systems. They also cover the design and optimisation of floating wind technologies.
**Update 21/05 - no ppe is required, a selection of cold drinks and snacks will be provided**
Speaker(s)
Harvey North, the Floating Wind Test & Validation Site Leader, along with his colleagues, will guide the group through the test facilities onsite and explain the process of validating subsea electrical cables to ensure they are fit for purpose.
