Welcome to the Edinburgh and South East Scotland Young Members Panel

The Edinburgh and South East Scotland Young Members Panel exists to engage like minded individuals and stimulate discussion, through offering activities that are not possible, or preventatively expensive, without the support of the Institution.

We run numerous events throughout the year from go-karting to careers nights to skills presentations. Please check the Events and Event Reviews sections for more information.

We hope to create a network of young mechanical engineers within the region to socialise and network and learn more about the engineering excellence of where we live, work and study.  It will also provide the opportunity to share experiences and advice from EngTech and Incorporated Engineer through to Chartered Engineer status.

Getting Involved

The panel are always looking for new volunteers to organise or help out at events. The panel is open to both undergraduates and graduates who are affiliate members of the IMechE. To get involved or to attend an event, please contact any of the committee members. 

Alternatively, you can pop along to one of monthly panel meetings which run most months from August to May.
