The AGM for the IMechE Edinburgh and SE Scotland Young Members Panel (YMP) will be held on Tuesday 3rd April. This is an opportunity to become more involved with the IMechE and put your ideas forward for the coming year.

All members are encouraged to attend! New members of the panel are especially welcome if you are interested in suggesting ideas or organising events. As well as being a fulfilling experience in its own right, being involved with the YMP is an excellent opportunity for professional networking and Continued Professional Development, which is valuable for anyone who wants to work towards CEng, IEng or EngTech status with the IMechE.

Time: arrive from 18:30 for a 19:00 start

The positions for re-election are:

- Chair (Chairs monthly meetings, attends quarterly Scottish Regional meetings, writes quarterly reports, liaises with head office, senior panel, YMB rep and Scottish regional young members boards)

- Vice-Chair (Supports the Chair in their activities, attends quarterly regional meetings in the absence of the chair)

- Treasurer (Controls & applies for funding, reimburses expenses, writes quarterly budget report)

- Secretary (Organises and communicates meeting & event dates, records & distributes any actions from meetings)

- Media Officer (Maintains the Panel’s ‘Near You’ page on the IMechE website, updates our Facebook & Twitter accounts)

- University Representatives (Liaises with their university and advertises events)

- Company Representatives (Liaises with their company and advertises or hosts events)

In addition, all Panel members will play a part in devising, organising and running our monthly events.

Members who have already been actively involved in the panel for can nominate themselves for the positions of Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer and Secretary.

The role of Media Officer, University Representatives and Company Representatives can be nominated for by any affiliate, associate or chartered members.
