In partnership with Elevator, it is dedicated to help those thinking of starting a business. Also, a key part of our remit is to share the enterprise skills and thinking from the world’s top entrepreneurs with students, staff and recent graduates. This event will show the centre and its work, including hearing from a business team currently studying Biomedical Engineering.

    The talk will focus on how Dundee City Council's fleet of electric vehicles has developed over the last seven years and the infrastructure required to grow such a fleet. The challenges that a fleet of electric vehicles this size brings operationally and the challenges that are faced by an in-house maintenance organisation. The financial case for introducing these vehicles will also be discussed with the focus on whole life cost comparison.

    Bridges are crucial to societal development and are normally major capital projects. Many factors influence bridge construction - engineers must make assumptions in order to design these key structures to the client's remit. This lecture will explore some of the more notable assumptions made in the design of bridges and review the attempts to foretell the future by the engineers of the past.
