Looking back

on the UK fast reactor programme

 

 

 

 

Mr Colin Gregory

 

 

To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the closure of the Prototype Fast Reactor at Dounreay, Colin, a former Chief Technologist on the site, will present his talk.

 

 

The talk will discuss why the UK embarked on a fast reactor programme and highlights the reasons why eventually the programme was abandoned. Against this background, the talk presents a summary of the technical achievements and lessons learntfrom theoperation of the UKfast reactor fuel cycle.
