The Royal Commonwealth Pool is a versatile water sports centre hosting a 50m swimming pool, a 5m deep dive pool and a training pool, which, equipped with movable floors, suit a wide variety of activities and sports for both leisure and professional competitions. Behind the scenes there is a large water filtration system, several air-handling units and an on-site chlorine production unit that keep this A-listed building functioning. This visit aims to provide you with an overview of the technicalities required for a leisure venue of this kind, as well as an insight of its structure following the £37 million refurbishment in 2012.

Those registered for the visit will receive email instructions regarding the meeting point prior to the visit.

Each visit begins at 6pm: maximum number of attendees 10.

After working as a Broadcast Technician for National Spanish Television, Andrés Felipe Lices Valbuena moved to Edinburgh seven years ago, starting his career at the Royal Commonwealth Pool. He is enrolled in his last year on an Engineering Design degree at The Open University.
