The Energy Transition is our path to Net Zero, but it is Engineering that will take us there. In this talk, Dr Alex Quayle will explore the challenges we face at a local and a global level, as well as the array of solutions now available to help. With specific case studies, he will review the challenges we face and the opportunities we have to reshape our economy – as well as exploring the practical steps we can each take towards NetZero.

Following an early career PhD in the design of low noise and low carbon aircraft, Alex joined BP as an engineer on the world’s biggest CO2 Carbon Capture and Storage facility at In Salah, Algeria. He worked with BP across a range of project, technology and R&D roles for 10 years before recently joining Flotation Energy plc to develop and deliver offshore floating wind solutions for the North Sea.

Dr Alexander Quayle has spent his career in energy - including 10 years with BP across a range of energy and technology projects. Alexander holds a Masters' in Engineering Science and PhD in low carbon aircraft design. He currently works with Flotation Energy, a specialist in offshore floating wind.
