Description

In the Summer of 2020 Chris and his colleagues found themselves in a situation they had never previously experienced. They had built a machine which didn't perform in they expected it to. Where had they gone wrong?

With the project already running 3 months late and now facing a significant mechanical redesign, how would it be possible to meet the design specification, avoid disappointing the customer and not bankrupt the company?

Join Chris as he discusses the highs and lows of Clansman Dynamics' project to develop a complex, multi-role and high-speed handling system for the FutureForge at the NMIS Advanced Forming Research Centre.

Chris McCrory has over 25 years’ experience developing capital equipment from industries as diverse as medical device assembly to chocolate manufacture. His core interests lie in technology management and delivery of ambitious, innovative products.
