Join us for a tour of the Howden factory in Renfrew!
Howden is a long‑established global engineering company specialising in air and gas handling equipment for industrial processes. The Renfrew facility is our centre of excellence for screw compressor technology, producing bareshaft screw compressors and engineered compressor packages for global markets.
Since Howden’s acquisition by Chart Industries in 2023, the Renfrew factory has expanded to support Chart’s broader clean‑energy and industrial strategy. This tour will take in the recently upgraded testing and metrology facilities, as well as the screw machining centres and package assembly hall.
Agenda: After inductions, visitors will be split into two groups. While one group tours the factory, the other will be treated to short technical presentations on Howden machines and the recent upgrades.

Parking: Visitors are welcome to park on site where available, on-street parking nearby also available.
Public Transport: Closest bus stop is on King’s Inch Road, near the junction with Old Govan Road. Alternatively, Braehead bus station is a 15 minute walk from the factory
PPE: If you already own them, please do bring safety boots and hard hat. Howden will be able to supply PPE for those that require it.
