The HABIT (HabitAbility, Brine Irradiation and Temperature) instrument, developed by the University of Aberdeen's Department of Planetary Sciences, may be the first UK instrument to operate on Mars. Originally for ExoMars, it will now join Japan's first Mars mission. Led by theoretical physicist Javier Martin-Torres, HABIT assesses Mars' habitability via EnvPack, which measures liquid water, temperature, and UV radiation, and BOTTLE, a tool producing liquid water and studying water cycles.

In 2010, the EI published a free Process Safety Management (PSM) Framework. This gives a systematic approach to assure process safety in high hazard sectors. In the 2022 edition, it was revised, giving more guidance how to sell the Framework into organisations. This webinar will give the background to the framework, how it can be used and tools to support its implementation. The webinar is aimed at those with responsibilities for process safety at a corporate, business and facility level.

Following the successful launch of 'The Hot Reality: Living in a +50°C World' at the IMechE, in collaboration with the Clean Cooling Network this COP29 focussed webinar invites you to join Dr Tim Fox to explore the report. The increase in seasonal temperatures, the severity and frequency of heatwaves will severely impact all liveable aspects of life on Earth. Critical cooling infrastructure is at the core of many of the viable solutions needed for our survival and the role engineering will play.
