The fifth generation of mobile communications offers new opportunities for vehicle communications, including both vehicle to vehicle and vehicle to infrastructure communications. This presentation will introduce vehicle communications starting with current technologies and explaining the features enabled as we move to 5G networks. Integration of vehicle communication requirements into network planning will be discussed, considering how the network loading can vary with traffic for example.
