Technical lecture
31 January 2024 18:00 - 19:00
This event has finished
Description

The decarbonisation strategy proposes the core of the network will be electrified to allow 95% of freight and higher speed passenger trains to be electrified. The strategy proposes that the majority of rest of the network would use battery/OLE  bi-mode passenger trains in the long term. The strategy focusses on cumulative carbon reduction and so also postulates a range of potential interim solutions including ‘drop-in’ fuel and/or re-tractioning existing DMU’s with a useful remaining life.

Light refreshments will be served from 17:30 with the talk starting at 18:00.

Attendees are encouraged to attend in-person to take advantage of networking and engagement with our speaker. An online option will be provided using Teams. Meeting joining instructions will be emailed closer to the event.
