Description

Come
along to a site visit at the Cardiff Bay Barrage, this is a follow-up to the
groundwater lecture given by David James of Cardiff Harbour Authority for both
The Institution of Mechanical Engineers, South Wales and The Institute of Water.
There
will be a chance to tour the facility and meet the team that operate and manage
the Barrage.
The
Barrage Manager and Principal Engineer will be able to discuss Barrage
electrical and mechanical engineering, surface water interactions and
recreational challenges associated with the Barrage.
This
is a great opportunity to see the inner workings of one the most significant
engineering projects of 1990s and its role in creating the Cardiff of today.
There
is also a pay & display car park that you can use right next to the site so
transport shouldn’t be a problem.
