    How operational experience such as the build up of dirt and erosion on the turbine blades is impacting the design of blades for the latest units as well retrofitting devices to mitigate the effects to operating units. The addition of aerodynamic devices such as vortex generators, winglets and Gurney flaps has the potential to increase annual energy production by up to 5%.
