Welcome to the Events and Contacts pages for the IMechE Wessex Region. The Wessex Region covers activities organised by volunteer members in the Bournemouth, Dorchester & Weymouth, Portsmouth & Isle of Wight, Salisbury and Southampton Areas. If you would like to volunteer, please contact your local Area committee by following the links on these pages and get involved. If you don't want to join a committee or panel, we're always grateful for ideas for lectures, luncheon clubs, young member or schools activities and site visits across the region - don't hesitate to contact us!

As I start my tenure as Regional Chair I would like to focus on developing/consolidating the volunteer network across the Region. I would like to make it easier for volunteers to communicate, share event ideas and best practice, both within Region and across nearby Regions.
The volunteer network is the foundation of events, its re-development is a first step to rebuilding the momentum of the events and activities across the region as we move away from the shadow of COVID-19.
Overall, IMechE Wessex Region has been through a tough period, but we have some excellent volunteers and I hope I can lead the Region back to its previous level of activity!
