Description

Nuvvon, a start-up company, will be giving a talk on the battery chemistries of the future and the challenges of starting a green-tech company.

Nuvvon’s CEO, Simon Madgwick, and COO, Jonathan Lex, who are both mechanical engineering graduates from Portsmouth University, will be hosting this event.

The subject of future battery technology will be explored, and why it’s especially important for the energy storage sector. Simon and Jonathan will also share their experience on what it’s like to start a technology start-up company.

Since leaving Portsmouth University, Jon has had over 20 years of operations and supply chain experience. Simon’s expertise has been in private equity, management and engineering, alongside having a PhD in Lean Manufacturing.

Nuvvon has driven nanotech research to develop a series of novel polymers that can be used in the manufacture of next-generation solid state batteries, and its technology has been referenced in a variety of engineering publications; such as Battery & Electrification Technology Magazine and Batteries & Energy Storage Technology (BEST) Magazine.

After the talk, there will be a Q&A session where attendees will be able to ask questions.

Non-members are welcome to attend our events but you will need to create a non-member account to do this; it’s free and will only take a few minutes. To do this, please visit http://www.imeche.org/my-account/Register
