VISIT - SEVERN TRENT'S HAYDEN WATER TREATMENT WORKS

On 18/04/18 IMechE Gloucester were first given a technical talk by Paul in the on site classroom that is used for educational visits.  This was followed up by a fascinating guided tour (in glorious weather) of the varied plant on the site.  The photograph below shows the tour party in front of a digester and the associated CHP plant that burns the methane produced in the digester to generate electricity which is then supplied to the National Grid.

Coincidentally this was the day that the site became famous by making the national news with Eileen's knickers!  The Severn Trent press release is here, and Sky News were just one of the media channels reporting the news.
