Description
Founded in 1875, Wadworth & Co Ltd of Devizes, boasts an enviable tradition in the brewing of fine beers. It is still run as a family business. Many of the original brewing techniques and closely guarded recipes are still employed today.
The Wadworth Brewery Experience lasts approximately two and a half hours. The journey begins with a steep climb to the top of the Victorian tower and follows the gravitational brewing process down through 4 floors. In complete contrast the next stop is the 21st century Copper house to see how technology has developed, and then a short walk to visit Devizes' most famous residents, the brewery’s working Shire horses*. Next we take a look around the in-house sign writing studio where all the signs for Wadworth’s 260 pubs are hand painted in the traditional way. A visit to the on-site Cooperage* before a tutored beer tasting session of our hand crafted ales. (* subject to availability)
