Join us on a tour of this unique piece of engineering and maritime heritage. Experience what life was like on board a nuclear-powered 'hunter killer' submarine during the Cold War.

Our tour will be guided by Royal Navy ex-submariners who served on this class of boat. They will show you where the crew lived, slept, and ate. You will explore the Control Room and periscopes, from where the submarine was commanded, and you will see the 'bomb shop' from where the torpedos were fired (though Courageous never fired in anger).

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

*** HMS Courageous has small hatches and vertical ladders.  It is quite cramped inside and is not suitable for those with claustrophobia.  You must wear sensible footwear, and ladies should wear trousers! There is a minimum height requirement of 4 feet (1.22 m) ***

We will meet outside the dockyard at Albert Gate (on Albert Road) at 17:30. The tour will finish by 19:30. Your names will be provided to the Royal Navy for security screening purposes before the visit.
