Description
Following the very successful event: ‘Engineering for Fun - Inspiring the Next Generation’ in January 2015. We are running a similar event in September with a model building session, talk and book signing.
Caroline Alliston, author of the ‘Technology for Fun’ books of fun
practical design and build projects for 7-14 year olds, talks about how
she changed from working in industry to inspiring the next generation of
engineers. There will be lots of working models to play with, or to
make and take away afterwards. Friends, families and STEM ambassadors
welcome.
Timings are a little different to usual:
Refreshments from 6:30pm.
6:30pm to 7:20pm - Chance for children (and adults) to try some model making.
7:20pm to 8:15pm - Talk followed by questions and answers.
8:15pm to 8:30pm - Book Signing

BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL FOR THIS EVENT:
Please book this event using the "Book Now" link OR "Send a Message" links on this page.
A message from the booking system does NOT mean that you have a place - you need an email confirmation from the organiser.
When
booking, please provide names of all guests in your booking, and the
ages of any children that you are booking for. We ask for ages 8 and
over. Children will need to sit quietly for the hour of the talk and
questions.
Please see the
Technology for Fun web site, and
Facebook page.
The January event was promoted in the Business and Professional Supplement to
the November Edition of Cotswold Life. Read the article by clicking

Since the January Event, Caroline supported the IMechE at Cheltenham Science Festival, read about it

And Caroline is a joint recipient of the 2015 Alastair Graham Bryce Award - see this
news story.
