Description
Calling all STEM Ambassadors: learn how to produce a FAN-POWERED BOAT!
We are seeking volunteers in the Devon and Cornwall Area to help us pilot a new STEM initiative in local primary schools. If it is successful, it will be rolled out nationally!
Caroline Alliston FIMechE has developed some really fun STEM workshop activities to meet the learning objectives of the National Curriculum for Science at Key Stages 2 and 3. These workshops come with all of the materials and supporting literature etc. that you need to run a successful Science lesson! All you need is some training...
...which is what this event is for!
Caroline will teach you how to deliver an engaging and exciting Science lesson to a class full of primary school children(!) and provide you with the workshop kits to take away with you. We will then hook you up with a local primary school through STEMNet so that you can deliver the activity for real!
The chosen workshop for the pilot scheme is FAN-POWERED BOATS, will teach pupils some of the basic principles of electricity, magnetism, and forces. However, there are many other kits that could be used if the pilot is successful. See Caroline's website for details.
For more information, see the event poster.
