The railway wagons specifically designed to carry the biomass product from the harbour to Drax power station were innovative and provided a challenge to the engineer to carry the biggest volume in a wagon within the notoriously confined British loading gauge David Barney explains how the design was developed and the service problems that have been encountered with this unique fleet.
