Description

Bath and Bristol Young Members' Panel are proud to announce a technical visit to Wessex Water's waste processing plant.

The site located in Avonmouth, covers the whole waste water process - utilising hundreds of different types of mechanical equipment along the process chain.

This tour will give you the unique chance to view how these amazing feats of engineering process waste water. Included in Wessex Water's impressive array of equipment are: pumps, presses, a steam drying plan, boiler room and five combined heat and power gas engines (each producing 1.5MW of energy!). The Avonmouth site also houses a food waste plant and gas-to-grid project, which is not to be missed.

The tour is expected to take around 90minutes. Places are limited, so make sure you book early to avoid disappointment. As some of the tour takes place outside, please make sure that you dress appropriately for the weather.
