Description
IMERYS UK in the Modern Day
The Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE)
would like to invite you to a technical lecture at IMERYS Minerals site in
Par, Cornwall.
Join us on the 7th of July from 1830 - 2000
for a technical lecture IMERYS Par site. We will
have the opportunity to learn how mining has changed over the years and it will provide a brilliant insight into the modern day mining techniques
used by IMERYS.
We are very fortunate to have Ashley Shopland delivering the lecture - IMERYS UK’s
Platform Business Unit General Manager.
We hope that this lecutre
will capture people’s imagination and inspire you to support the
activities of the IMechE by joining or helping the local
area committee. This FREE event is open to members, non-member and
the general public.
The committee seeks to bring together aspiring, developing, and experienced
engineers, as well as members of the general public in order to promote the
benefits and achievements of the engineering profession.
The newly formed Cornwall branch will
organise a wide portfolio of events and activities, most of which will be open
to the general public and free to attend. These events will include
evening lectures for general interest; technical visits to
local engineering firms; social and professional networking events;
engineering competitions; and mentoring opportunities for local students and
professional engineers.
In addition, the committee will engage with
local schools to support the teaching of Science, Technology, Engineering, and
Mathematics (STEM) subjects and offer careers advice to young students.
