Description

Additive Manufacturing: Revolutionising Aviation Manufacture and Design

Additive Manufacturing (AM) is changing the face of aircraft design and GKN Aerospace is at the forefront of transforming the technology from theory to flying parts.

Whereas conventional manufacturing approaches typically form a component by removing material, AM builds parts layer by layer. This enables previously impossible designs to be made and increases control of material molecular structure.

Dr Sharman will share his passion for Additive Manufacturing, describing fundamentals and applications to show how it will revolutionise the Aerospace Manufacturing Industry.
