Description
The Institute of Mechanical Engineers Devon and Cornwall Area Committee would like to invite you to a two fold CPD event.
Firstly
Samantha Ansell will give a presentation on the importance of STEM
(Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) in today's society
along with information on how to become a STEM ambassador.
This
will then be followed by a presentation from Alan King, our Area
Business Development Executive. Alan will discuss what the IMechE can do
for you, how to get involved and much more!
Finally there will be an opportunity to network following the event.
Alan
joined the Institution of Mechanical Engineers as a Business
Development Executive in 2004. With a background in both engineering and
business, he brings a knowledgeable blend of skills and experience to
the role.
Samantha Ansell is the STEM manager for Education
Business Partnership-South West. She manages the STEMNET contract for
Devon and Cornwall, providing advice and guidance for anything and
everything STEM related.
This FREE event is open to members, non-member and the general public.
**Please remember to book your tickets by using the link at the
top of this page - Spaces are limited so be quick!**
We hope
that this event will capture people’s imagination and inspire you to
support the activities of the IMechE by supporting our committee. If
you believe that this event will be of interest to your friends, family
or colleagues please invite them along (remember to ask them to book
their own tickets).
The committee seeks to bring together aspiring, developing, and
experienced engineers, and members of the general public to promote the
benefits and achievements of the engineering profession.
In
addition, the committee will engage with local schools to support the
teaching of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)
subjects and offer careers advice to young students.
