Greenpower’s Castle Combe event for the schools’ electric car design and racing project is running again.  This is the 12th year we have supported this event with volunteer scrutineers and marshals.  The event this is one of the most popular in the Greenpower schedule with almost 100 cars racing.  This is a great way to encourage pupils to consider a career in engineering whilst having a good day out. Spectators/families are also welcome – it is free entry.

The F24 event : Two 90 minute races for 11-16 year olds. A single pair of batteries powers an electric (wheelchair motor) driven car

The F24+ (age 16-25) race occurs between these races for apprentice and university teams.

The help we need to make the day successful includes scrutineering (safety/rule checks of cars), pit lane marshalling, prize judging and more. Early start for scrutineering if you can make it otherwise help is required throughout the day.  It is a fun day and no experience is necessary. We also judge, and produce citations for, the technical prizes to be awarded on the day. The event is on Sunday 17th September at Combe Circuit, Castle Combe, Chippenham, Wiltshire, SN14 7EY.  Food and drink will be provided during the day.

If you can help anytime between 07:30 (start time for scrutineering and breakfast if you arrive early) or 09:00 (start time for other assistance) and 17:00 please contact Becca Platfoot at Greenpower becca@greenpower.co.uk who is maintaining the list of volunteers and will send out any appropriate information to you.
