Brittany Ferries Tour

The Institution of Mechanical Engineers Devon & Cornwall Area Committee would like to invite you to a technical visit of Brittany Ferries Plymouth Ferry Port.  This tour will take us around the most interesting areas of a visiting cruise ship, including the main engine room.

On the day we will be led by the knowledgeable and experienced Port Operations Manager Steve Lawrie, with the tour scheduled to take between 1.5 - 2 hours. Please bring with you a Hi-Vis jacket and wear sensible clothing (Hi-Vis jackets can also be provided with advanced notice).

*Unfortunately this tour is not suitable for under 11's.*

With a limited group size the tickets are bound to disappear fast so why not book your free tickets now to avoid disappointment!

This is an opportunity not normally available to the general public and an excellent chance to see the inner workings of a modern cruise ship.

**Please remember to book your tickets by using the link at the top of this page - Spaces are limited so be quick!**

We hope that this visit will capture people’s imagination and inspire you to support the activities of the IMechE by supporting our committee. If you believe that this event will be of interest to your friends, family or colleagues please invite them along (remember to ask them to book their own tickets). This FREE event is open to members, non-member and the general public.

The committee seeks to bring together aspiring, developing, and experienced engineers, and members of the general public to promote the benefits and achievements of the engineering profession.

The newly formed Cornwall branch will organise a wide portfolio of events and activities, most of which will be open to the general public and free to attend.  These will include evening lectures for general interest; technical visits to local engineering firms; social and professional networking events; engineering competitions; and mentoring opportunities for local students and professional engineers.

In addition, the committee will engage with local schools to support the teaching of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) subjects and offer careers advice to young students.
