Committee meeting or AGM
08 March 2018 18:30 - 20:30
This event has finished

The main item of business at this meeting will be the election of new officers to the committee.  If you would like to stand for election, please view the role descriptions and fill in  a nomination form .

Nominations close March 4th.

A great opportunity to meet like-minded individuals from a wide range of local businesses, make new friends, and perhaps even to solve that problem you've been working on!

We usually chat about recent engineering news and plan our forthcoming events diary: to get the ball rolling, we normally ask someone to give a (very) short, informal 'presentation' about something interesting that they've been doing lately.

No need to 'book' - just turn up!  We look forward to seeing you.

Talk Information
Global Challenge of providing clean, sustainable energy to meet the exponential growth in worldwide demand for cooling – This talk will touch on urbanisation, growing cooling demand for food supply chains, building cooling, digital systems etc and how can we meet that sustainably – introducing the ‘Cold Economy’ concept, what it is and how it works, and looking at innovative solutions from around the globe. The ‘Cold Economy’ concept originated in my IMechE ‘Tank of Cold’ report and since then has grown in international usage. We continue to work in this area and both Process Industries Division and the Food & Drink Engineering Committee are involved in a number of major international initiatives in this area.

Dr Tim Fox will be our guest speaker for this years AGM. Tim will be discussing the global challenge of providing clean, sustainable energy to meet the exponential growth in worldwide demand for cooling (continued below).
