A joint event with the IStructE and ICE brings a talk on the future of engineering challenges in space.

Professor Southwood will present a talk on his expertise in space engineering and discuss opportunities for engineers. “Space technology permeates many aspects of our society already.  What are the challenges of making things work in space?  Can we go beyond robots in space? How could humans live out on the final frontier?  Why would we do it?”.

Book now so that we can ensure we book adequate refreshments. 

Free refreshments will be provided at 1800.

Free parking is available on campus after 1600.

Professor Southwood is a space scientist and Senior Research Investigator at Imperial College London. Past President of the Royal Astronomical Society, he was Director of Science and Robotic Exploration at the ESA. His research interests have been solar–terrestrial physics and planetary science.
