Description

Fielding & Platt Ltd was an engineering firm based in the docks area of Gloucester from 1866 until 2003.  

What did they manufacture?  Hydraulic presses, steam engines, pumps – lots of things!  The company were also very active in the area of hydraulic riveting, and developed innovative techniques that came to be used widely in the manufacture of boilers, locomotives, ships and heavy equipment in general.

The content of the presentation will be of interest to a wide range of audiences, both young and old.  Following the presentation, there will be an opportunity for the audience to ask questions.
