Our transport world is changing fast. This talk will explore how powertrains for complex, large, long endurance vehicles and vessels, can be designed to meet the important criteria of the users operators and owners, such as weight, dimensions and capital costs. A number of case studies will be used to illustrate the problem and some solutions, including a road sweeper, a work boat, and a defence vehicle.
