Description

Join us for a unique one-hour Clifton Suspension Bridge Hard Hat Tour, where you'll explore parts of the bridge normally hidden from public view. Beginning at the Clifton Suspension Bridge Museum, the tour takes you underground into two of the twelve vaulted chambers inside the Leigh Woods abutment, where expert guides will share the story of the bridge's construction and the remarkable rediscovery of the vaults in 2002.

Hard hats and high-visibility jackets are provided, and the tour includes descending a safety-enclosed ladder and walking through a short low passage to access the underground chambers.

Important Information

  • Minimum height: 1.2m.
  • Participants must be able to climb a ladder and crouch through a low corridor.
  • Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes with good grip (no heels or open-toed shoes).
  • The vaults may be damp, muddy and has a temperature of 13oC, so please dress appropriately.
