Description
We are looking for volunteers to help with Greenpower schools racing at the Castle Combe circuit. The main race is the maximum distance travelled in 4 hours in a car designed and built by the schools using pairs of lead acid batteries and a wheelchair motor. This is a great way to encourage pupils to consider a career in engineering.
You are needed to scrutinize the cars (the most interesting part), control the pit area, vehicle recovery, judging for best engineered car and some trackside marshalling. It is a fun day and no experience is necessary. Food and refreshments are provided for volunteers. Spectators/families are also welcome – bring a picnic.
If you are interested in helping anytime between 07:45 (start time for the scruitineers) and 17:30 please contact Mike Howell.
