Description

There is an ongoing requirement to improve the equipment carried by the modern soldier. The need to reduce the soldier’s weight burden is well established and has been the subject of a number of initiatives in recent years. This talk will review the current state of the art in soldier systems modernisation across the world, and show how commercial technology is revolutionising the way soldiers fight. John Frankham is an Electronics Engineer and member of the IET, with 30 years experience in the Security, Automotive and Defence industries. In 2009, John moved to join the new Cosworth Defence business unit, where he has filled the role of Technical Lead, deliverying projects which transition products and technologies from the Cosworth’s motorsport background into defence.
