Looking at the history of the Cosmos at the Large Hadron Collider
Technical Lecture
24 April 2013 19:30 - 21:00

Description
Following more than twenty years of preparation and construction, the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) started collider protons in November 2009. The data taken during 2010 and 2011 retraced the history of particle physics and the developments in our understanding of matter at its most fundamental level. The data collected in 2012 should take us into new territory where discoveries can be made. Helen Heath will discuss some of the challenges of the machine and the experiments and (hopefully) some new insights from the 2012 data.
