Description

Energy Question Time

The intention of this Energy Question Time event is to discuss the future of energy supply and demand and whether solutions can be reached within industry that overcome the hurdles that are faced.

This is a collaborative event between the IMechE and CIBSE, the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers.

The purpose in organising this collaborative event stems from a growing belief that achievable solutions must consider the entire energy infrastructure; from the building design, occupancy behaviour and efficiency to the supply network. This debate will involve 5 panel members from the energy sector who work for companies that have a huge influence on the future of the energy industry from both the supply and demand industries.

The event is aimed at both students who are entering the industry and professionals that are currently in the industry and is to be in the form of a Question Time.

When you register for the event you will be asked to submit your question to be entered into our selection process. Attendees whose questions are selected will then be able to ask their questions at the debate. It is requested that questions surround the wider subject of "Achieving a sustainable energy future."

After the debate has taken place there is a buffet and drinks provided along with a great opportunity to network with professionals. This event is not only a great opportunity for CIBSE students to network with likeminded CIBSE professionals and students but also those who are associated with the IMechE. A collaboration of all those interested in the future of energy from all backgrounds and institutions will hopefully allow for a great debate.
