Description

Our annual symposium examines the future strategy for passenger rolling stock in Great Britain, over a 30-year timeframe. Uniquely, this work is being led by a steering group comprising the Association of Train Operating Companies, the train leasing companies, and Network Rail. A first report was published in February 2013 and the Strategy is now being developed through annual updates. Three senior rail industry leaders will give their views of the future. Malcolm Brown is a member of the steering group for the Strategy. David Clarke will focus on innovation in rolling stock design, and Tim Bentley will describe factors relating to the manufacturing and maintenance of passenger rolling stock. The audience will then have the opportunity to debate the issues with the speakers.
