Description

One of the highlights of the year; Young Engineers (engineers with less than 10 years experience) will present their papers, in competition with each other. The winner will receive a prize of £200 and will go forward for a place in the national final later in the year at Birdcage Walk, London. And other prizes.

This years entrants are

Lawrence Walton – Network Rail - (Pushing the Envelope: Up-grading Heathrow Airport Junction);

Khalid Lagnatha – URS - (Life Cycle Assessment of the Furrer and Frey Twin Track Cantilever for the Series 2 Design Range);

Yewande Gbadegesin – Siemens - (Train retro-fitment for ETCS);

Jamie Baggott – FGW – (Keeping the HST Fleet Running );

Gareth Storton – FGW – (Bringing Heavy maintenance in house).

Following each presentation there will be a short question and answer session. We then invite you for further discussions at ‘The Glue Pot’, 5 Emlyn Square, Swindon SN1 5BP. This is a traditional pub in Brunel’s Swindon Village, close to Milford House and the station.
